Harvard University published the Harvard’s History of Photography Timeline. This online resource gives a very succinct text only timeline of photography. There is also an option to have the timeline include photos. To view this you click the “Timeline” tab at the top and click through. The timeline covers the basics of the evolution of the darkroom processes, technology types and printing. It also lists some of the notable photographers that invented processes or were the first to use a type of photography (i.e. war photographer or surrealism).  The resource does not specify an author or editor. However, when you click the “About” tab it does list the curators, timeline designer and contributing repositories. It is organized in chronological order and easily read as bullet points on the text only option and then slides for the timeline option. According to the copyright at the bottom of the page it was updated in 2024. It does not appear to have a bias or sell anything. They include their resource list on the “Resources” tab. This online resource was listed as an external website on the History of Photography entry on the Britannica database.
