Group f.64: Edward Weston, Ansel Adams, Imogen Cunnigham, and the community of artists who revolutionized American photography by Mary Street Alinder is a great resource for the movement that helped make photography be seen as a fine art. This resource gives great information about the individuals in the group and how the group formed. They were pioneers for the recognition of photography as a fine art and not just a technical skill. This is definitely an adult, educational resource. It is very wordy and difficult to navigate but provides lots of great information. The author, Mary Street Alinder, was a former assistant to Ansel Adams, one of the godfathers of darkroom photography making her a reliable creator and author of this resource. This was published in 2014 as a biography of the f/64 photography group. The resource isn’t easy to navigate. They do include a table of contents but within the first chapter they introduce all the artists but do not include those with subtitles within the table of contents. So if the reader wanted to jump to the Ansel Adams section within that first chapter they would have to flip through to find it. They include a few pictures throughout the chapters and have a picture section in the back. There are also acknowledgements, an appendix and notes in the back as well. This resource provides some really great information despite the difficulty navigating through it. This was an ebook resource I found through my public library catalog that was suggested after I searched for other history of photography books.
