An Introduction to Photographic Processes
Amy Azzarito

The New York Public Library’s research guides can be organized by subject, type or author. Subjects range from Architecture to Business to Maps to Theater to Women’s Studies. They have a subject for photography and within that subject they have “Photography Research at NYPL” that lists 3 different resources to utilize. I believe the audience to be adults as the navigation does not appear to be child or young adult friendly. Within that library guide I chose An Introduction to Photographic Processes. The guide creator was Amy Azzarito in 2009 and it was last updated in 2016. Her credentials are not listed. The information is organized as a glossary of terms and also includes a timeline from the 1820s to the present. From what I can tell there does not appear to be any sort of bias. They do have a “shop” button that is for a tote bag with the library logo and a donation button. Based on my knowledge from undergrad the information appears to be valid and reliable. They even include at the bottom links that have more information and other internet sources. This is another source that I originally accessed through this class, more specifically from the powerpoint you included of the subject guide assignment to help myself learn to explore and navigate. I can tell that this resource will also have great reference “bread crumbs” through the more information and resources listed at the bottom of entries.
